How Do I Get Involved?

The biggest challenge that ZPM is currently facing is financial resources to effectively and efficiently run the entire planned program. Your support and partnership with financial support to ZPM will definitely make a high impact in reducing crime.

The Beneficiaries

ZPM is running a Restoration and Re-integration program for
ex-prisoners. ZPM organizes once per month “Better Life Meetings” (BLM) for social and character development of ex-prisoners. During these meetings ZPM network ex-prisoners with potential mentors, employers and communities. The last BLM was held in Mbare on 11 June 2011 and was attended by 5 ex-prisoners and 14 supporters. Under the same program ZPM gives
“Exit-Support” for just released prisoners. This has been done through provision of food, clothing and transport. Some of the few
ex-prisoners assisted include the following: Simba who was assisted with clothing and transport to travel to Karoi worth $30.00, Draker Felix who was assisted with US$65.00 for clothing and transport, Ronald Chirara who was assisted with clothing worth US$100.00 and Michael Guri who was assisted with US$23.00 to travel from Harare to Plumtree. Land and dilapidated servants’ quarters to be renovated into living quarters for ex-inmates were donated by a passionate well-wisher in Karoi. The halfway village to be established on this 20 hectare plot will be named ‘Spring of Life Halfway Village’ and will be used as a half-way house and an economic empowerment skills training centre for just released prisoners. In addition, humanitarian assistance has been donated to ex-prisoners. Clothing worth US$165.50 was donated to ex-prisoners and their families in May2011
